SHIVRATRI IMAGES 2024 || Shivratri is one of the most famous events in India. This is famous among the Hindus because this day is of Lord Shiva which is Hindu’s biggest Lord. Mahashivtari is known as “The Great Night of Lord Shiva”. This festival is celebrated in India as well as in Nepal too. The Mahashivratri festival is celebrated on the new moon day on Maagha (according to the Hindu calendar).

There are many mythological stories behind this day. It is believed that one day a hunter was looking for something to hunt. But he couldn’t found anything to hunt so, he waited on the branch of a Woodapple tree. To attract the deer, he started throwing the leaves of the tree on the ground. He was unaware of the Shiva Lingam that was beneath the tree. It is believed that Lord Shiva pleased with those Woodapple tree leaves and the patience of that hunter and appeared in front of that hunter. Then Lord Shiva blessed him with wisdom and from that day, the hunter left eating meat.
